Early hardships often shape our resilience and character. At just 1, I was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia, and by age 5, I had undergone a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Surviving this severe illness, which predominantly affects African descendants with high mortality rates, made me realize the value of a second chance at life. This realization led me to adopt two guiding principles: Seize every opportunity that comes my way and second, Strive relentlessly to reach my potential.
These principles propelled me to excel academically, graduating at the top of my high school class, becoming Miss Teen Johannesburg, and collaborating with brands like YOU Magazine to empower underprivileged girls. Despite these achievements, I felt destined for more.

When the opportunity arose to study in the United States, I embraced it with the same resolve that had seen me through my early health struggles: seize every opportunity and strive to reach my potential. My college years at Florida International University were marked by new experiences and high achievements, culminating in graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning the Worlds Ahead Graduate distinction.
Initially, I envisioned climbing the corporate ladder post-graduation. However, the unexpected turn of events in 2020 led me to entrepreneurship. I founded Hired Institute, a career coaching company, just before the pandemic, positioning us perfectly to help over 150,000 people land jobs amid widespread furloughs. Our success earned us partnerships with LinkedIn, Lunchclub, and Bacardi, and media coverage on CBS, NBC, and WGN-TV.
The Rise of PEMA.io
While I excelled at career coaching, sustaining a business through lead generation was a challenge. Many peers faced the same issue. PEMA.io was born out of necessity—my husband’s business collapsed during the pandemic, and we needed a way to survive—and out of recognizing a market gap for reliable lead generation services.
PEMA.io quickly established itself as a leader in outbound marketing and lead generation, serving over 1,000 businesses and gaining recognition from Entrepreneur Magazine, SUCCESS magazine, and the Inc 5000 list. Our success hinges on two factors: data and people. We rely on data to drive campaigns and maintain a market pulse, executing over 100 million reach-outs since inception. Additionally, we prioritize helping our team members achieve their personal, professional, and financial goals.
This journey from Johannesburg to Miami, through hardships and triumphs, is a testament to my commitment to seizing opportunities and reaching my potential. As C.S. Lewis said, "Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny."
